You Mog Readers out there may have noticed this event - We need to support it as two of our esteemed Moderators are Key Participants are you not Simon and Boshly?

In May 2013, a fleet of Morgan Cars will leave the company’s historical factory on Pickersleigh Road enroute to one of the most northern points in Europe, Nordkapp, situated on the northern tip of Norway.

The trip, led by Steve Morris and Tim Whitworth, Directorsat the Morgan Motor Company, is much more than an extreme test of how well these British sports cars can stand up to the inhospitable driving conditions posed by the Scandinavian climate.

The purpose behind this two-week, 5,000mile journey is to raise awareness for a medical condition known as Marfan Syndrome. The condition attracts very little awareness, yet in the UK alone over 10,000 people are currently diagnosed with the condition, unfortunately over 1/3 of whom will not live beyond early adulthood, as there is currently no cure for the condition.

Steve and Tim will be joined by several other Morgan enthusiasts, who will all share the responsibilities of driving a Aero Supersport Coupe, Aero Supersport, Plus 8, Plus 4 and a 3-Wheeler for the entire duration of the tip.

The team are keen to stress, even at this early stage, that they are each funding the trip from their own personal finances, thereby ensuring that 100% of the donations they receive go directly to assist the incredible work of The Marfan Trust.

Our Christmas Walks while in Dorking Surrey

During our visit to Dorking Surrey over Christmas it is still a daily event to give our dog Digby his daily outing. My usual route when there is to follow the footpaths which border the Pipp Brook until I reach the Pixham Mill House and the main road. 

Imagine my surprise when I saw how the Pipp Brook had oveflowed its banks due to the heavy rain and flowed across my path into the Pixham Mill House Gardens. I, maybe foolishly, decided to carry Digby and wade through the flow to find out if the path became available further down. Th cross flow was not that strong so I decided to proceed.

I could see the Mill House ahead in the distance with yet more of the path under water. There was clear path ahead so my plan was to see if the Mill area was flooded or not.

When I reached the footbridge at the Mill House there was no flooding there, only a torrent of wild water running over the sluce gate that used to be used to divert water to the now defunct Mill Stream.

If you care to watch the video with the volume up full you will get an idea what the 'power of wild water' sounds like.

On Boxing Day we joined many of the local residents and made the trip to the top of Box Hill

Below to the right is the Dorking Cricket Club where I often walk Digby when in Dorking.

At the Viewpoint there is a plaque laid in remembrance of Leopold Salomon who donated the whole of the Box Hill area to the National Trust.

Still to be discovered on the Box Hill Trail is a Napoleonic Fort and the grave of Major Peter Labelliere who was buried Head Downwards there on the basis that the world was in such turmoil in 1800 that he would eventually end up the right way up.

Christmas Teddy Seen Loitering in Hedgerley

While out Dog Walking I noticed this Giant Teddy waiting for Santa outside of the Large Manor House in Hedgerley Village, Bucks.

It has been raining Cats and Dogs recently but he persists in waiting there day by day. I tried to get a little closer but this was the best I could do. He seems to be focusing on something in the garden?

During a later visit I realised that I could get a better cheeky photo through the front gate 

I just hope that he is given a warm welcome when someone eventually lets him in! 

Our Dog Walking Attire recently has been essentially Head to Toe Waterproofs, if not that elegant. Ann will give me some grief for posting this one!

Back in Beaconsfield I popped into the Waitrose Store via the car Park door and there was this magnificent Christmas Tree.

When I arrived home with Digby from our walking trip, he adopted his strange but now usual sitting position where he can see through the front door's top window.

It is Christmas Eve now and time to relax for the next few days, like heck! There will be plenty to do and lots of time playing with the Grandsons as they enjoy their new gifts.

Christmas Decorations at Terminal 5 Heathrow

I had to pop to Heathrow Terminal 5 to collect my son from his flight this evening.

Frosty Dog Walking at Hedgerly Green Bucks.

The cold weather this week has made previously impassable walking routes passable again with frozen buggy paths made so by Horse Riders, Mountain Bikers and Dozens of Dog Walkers like ourselves.

So this week we visited Hedgerley Green Again only to find that the Three Large Ponds were frozen over making for a very pretty vista.

The village is a lovely area, sadly now very close to the M40 cut through to the North (top Right Corner here).

Dog Walking at this time of the year is a real pleasure to be out and about in the Country Side.
