Roadster 100's Run for the Hills - Malvern 2017
Day 2
With Day 2 being a Sunday most of our group decided to arrive at the showground later.
I decided to take the Jubilee Drive run along the top of the Malvern Hills before arriving.
We had lost our designated place due to all of the distant Morgans yesterday being directed to our area today.
Carol & Robert had once again been the early arrivals and set out our line above.
Not so many Roadster 100's here today.
Proud of our work, Gerald & I erected our Register Banner once more.
Carol kindly relocated her R100 to create a space for it.
Ian & Gerald line up the posts while I set out the Guy Ropes & Pegs.
Not so easy for any of us in this stony ground.
Robert, handy with the camera, catches me Laying Down the Hammer in full swing.
Gerald tempting my Swinging Arm.
In the showground the local produce was certainly having and effect on the staff.
As the temperature rose for the 2nd day the chairs came out and a little relaxation was the order of the day.
Terry had the good sense to bring some shorts and a can or three.
Carol & Robert found a use for their Running Boards - Biscuits on this side.
Hot Drinks on the other.
Without warning a buzz was heard high in the sky as our Pit Special Stunt Flying was about to commence.
The Richard Goodwin Airshow had begun.
This quickly changed to a waw, waw, waw as the plane descended in a spiral before throwing itself into contortions across the sky indicated by the trail of smoke.
Flying Backwards it seems
Every Which Way that it can
A fantastic display that lasted ages.
Terry, who has joined in the fun of capturing the facilities when not in use, found these smart ones somewhere over the weekend.
Plenty of Stainless Steel in use here.
Terry also had the excellent idea of photographing the New MOG Magazine on the Frog Mog Bonnet
I made a final visit to see the The Bloudhound SSC Display
This Richard Noble led project is hoping to break the World Land Speed Record and reach 1000 Miles per Hour at the same time.
I did not realise that the fairground with its Vintage Rides was free to everyone there.
Note to myself! Read the Program Notes in future.
The afternoon entertainment is well under way in the arena as people begin to gather for the evening.
Here the English Symphony Orchestra Youth Orchestra is playing for us.
After a Pause for Prize Giving from the Autosolo & Concours competitions, MMC MD Steve Morris gives his Closing Speech.
Next up are the Rockabellas, a trio singing popular tunes form the 1940's & 50's
.
They did a very long stint which was excellent.
I am not sure if Terry is just excited or describing 'The One that Got Away'?
The large audience enjoying their Picnics and the warm Evening Sunshine.
The Hot Air Balloon, Tethered Rides, is down.
And now it is up again?
From the area over the hedge there is competition on the Balloon rides front.
Two Balloons make for a colourful site.
Meanwhile, in front of the stage these two have been enjoying dancing for ages it seems.
This one is giving a proper ride so late in the day
Quite a group in the basket
Everyone is watching the Balloon while Gerald takes a snap of it.
It is causing quite a spectacle as it passes low overhead.
As they make a 'Burn' we can see right up their nose.
Gerald is really getting down to it this time.
The audience is strengthening every moment.
and the Balloon floats away towards Malvern
Cheers, Gerald. That looks like a fine glass of the Red.
Mary allowing Donna to partake of a wee sensation.
Cheers Ian.
Well Done Mary - no messing about.
The Rockabellas are still going strong as the sun goes down.
Being east of the Malvern Hills we will have an Early Sunset, before those in the west.

Inside is a full page advertisement for our 2018 All Morgans' Day which is a perfect introduction to those who received a free copy.
A very strange thing happened later that afternoon as one of our group found this positioned under my wiper.
I thought that it was a wind up by our Car Badges Designer, Tcherek.
She tells Facebook Readers that it was a random choice and did not know it was my car???
The certificate

The Rockabellas start a Conga, or three, dodging around the audience. Ian is just about to join in.
With Two of those 'Conga' snaking by, the audience remain attentive enjoying the songs from this very good trio.
The Conga's never join together but they all keep going.
I head back to our car to put up the Hood, just in case there is a damp dew.
I am faced with quite a spectacle.
Morgans to the Left of us and Morgans to the Right.
Our Line of Six catch the evening sun.
Gwyn has already fitted his Tonneau.
I have mine with me but removing the Headrests is too much trouble.
On the large Stage Side Screens a Morgan Chassis is 'In Build' to music.
The English Symphony Orchestra have taken the stage for the Events Final Concert.
As the sky darkens the music becomes more intense leading to 'Last Night of the Proms' favourites
The ESO's American Conductor keeps them all in time.
Those 'Side Screens' provide some great views of the Orchestra
In full darkness the Opera Singers join in for 'Jerusalem' and Local Man Elgar's 'Land of Hope and Glory' Pomp & Circumstance March.
Lastly it was The 1812 Overture during which we were all delighted to find used a Fireworks Display for the Canons Roar and Booms.
Quite Spectacular.
At the very end of the music then came the Fireworks Display proper which lit up the Night Sky and filled the auditorium with grey smoke.
What a wonderful ending to a superb Morgan Weekend
Typically none of my videos saved for the usual strange reasons? However, Nola posted these the 1812 and the Finale on her Facebook page using these links.

A Massive vote of Thank You's must go out to Steve Morris & Jayne Jones of MMC and their teams from the factory and from the MSCC for putting on this magnificent Display for the whole Morgan community to enjoy.
Early on Monday morning the vale is shrouded in pockets of mist.
It is time to leave and say our farewells.
Terry & Nola ready Frog Mog as I load The Green Goddess with my bags having sorted out the Millais of Banner, Poles and Guy Ropes.
Packed and ready. All I need to do is Lower the Hood, get in and away for home.
One last look at those beautiful Malvern Hills as the foot goes down.
As another wonderful Morgan and Roadster 100 Register gathering comes to an end.
Its Left for Home, or do I take a Right and return again?
Choices, Choices.

On the way back I have to dodge this Inflated Dragon, who also has to dodge to just miss hitting the tree.
Could this be one of Gwyn's DevaMog Welsh friends?
After our evening food, Terry & I collect some more Kelsmor Ice Creams from the last van to be still open. Delicious Flavours, aptly named.
