The Morgan Centenary Roadster 100
From time to time a very special Morgan Car is produced to commemorate a Landmark Event. The Centenary of the Morgan Motor Company in 2009, being such an event, has probably no comparison.
It was sometime during 2009 that a group of Morgan Dealers led, we believe, by Melvyn Rutter and with possibly Phil Ledgerwood, convinced Charles Morgan that a Special Edition of the Series 2 Morgan Roadster be produced to celebrate the Morgan Company Centenary in that year.
The Morgan Centenary Roadster 100 was thus created and launched.
2019 is the Tenth Anniversary of the model and in May this year, a large group of Roadster 100 owners will visit the Morgan Factory to celebrate the occasion.
Originally all of the cars were to be Right Hand Drive and for the UK market, but that seemed to change as European orders were taken.
Mercedes Amazon Green metallic paint was selected to become the Roadster 100 colour and to select what eventually became known as 'The Centenary Trim Pack' as the minimum specification for every car in this edition.
Only Black Leather and Bumper Bars were offered as alternatives, with Air Conditioning offered as an extra.

The Original Production Car, with Chassis Number 4316, was presented to the Morgan Community in the showroom during the Centenary Celebration at Cheltenham Racecourse.
This same car was used in promotional materials and Appeared in The Centenary Programme with the Registration Plate obscured.
This is the narrative describing the introduction of the Roadster 100 Model and as 'Limited and Collectable Edition' in the programme.
For those who were fortunate to attend the celebration they would have received a copy of the Magazine ' 100 Years of Morgan' in their pack.
In the section ' Morgan - The Current Range', written by Octane Magazine, they mention the Roadster 100.
They also provide their full Photograph of the Centenary Car.
The Octane Comment reads:
With the benefit of history we know that production continued well into 2010 and the 100 cars mentioned were not completed before it was decided to discontinue the range.
I believe that the Final Production Number is not known but records held by The Morgan Centenary Roadster 100 Register would suggest it was somewhere between 57 or 63 cars.
The Centenary Display Car was held by the Morgan Motor Company for sometime as a Demonstrator and strangely, when sold, it was given the Series Number 030 rather than No. 001.
